2. Purposes:
The purposes of The Association are:
- To foster stronger relations between Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology alumni and others connected with the Institute in all fields;
- To recognize and identify the role of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology alumni as important stakeholders in the continuing quest to provide excellence in education by way of academic and technical collaborations;
- To realize the enormous benefits that can come from the engagement and support of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology alumni with the University and seek their help in identifyin strategic directions for Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology in the 21st century;
- To provide opportunities for community service; to act as goodwill ambassadors for Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology within India and abroad;
- To serve as effective interlocutors in the emerging economic and socio-political contexts within India and elsewhere and providing, as appropriate, material an intellectual support to the University, particularly in augmenting and locating it frontline research areas; and
- To provide for academic and professional interaction and networking among Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology alumni and endevour to create career opportunities for the Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology student community;

3. Seat of Alumni Association Office
The seat and office of The Association shall be located in Admission Cell, within the Campus, Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology and the operations of The Association shall be carried out through this office.

4. Membership
The Membership of The Association shall be open to:
(a) Those who have acquired a graduate or post graduate degree from Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology.
(b) Those who have acquired Industrial Training from Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology.
(c) Those who have worked in Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology for at least one year;
(d)Existing and former members of the academic community of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology(former members of academic community should have worked for at least two years in Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology);
(e) Those who have done some paramedical & applied technology course from Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology.
(f) Those who have done some Biotechnology or Hospital management course from Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology.

5. General Body
The entire membership of the Alumni Association of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology shall constitute the General Body of the Alumni and shall meet once in a year at a designated place and time. The General Body shall have the power to consider and decide on all matters relating to Alumni Association of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology and provide a broad policy framework towards the functioning of the Alumni Association of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology. The General Body shall also elect an Executive Committee to carry on with activities of the Alumni Association of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology.

6. Executive Committee
The management of the Alumni Association of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology and its activities shall be vested in an Executive Committee ('EC' hereinafter) nominated by the General Body for a year. It shall meet as many times as it deems fit (at least thrice in a session) to carry out effectively the activities of the Association. The EC shall comprise of members nominated/elected by the General Body, including

(d) Treasurer: Mr. Kapil Gupta
(e) Joint Secretary: Dr. Anamika Parashar
(f) Chief Advisor: Dr. Rakesh Gupta
(g) Ex-officio members: Dr. Sonika Saxena

7. Powers of the Executive Committee
The EC shall have following powers and functions:
(a) It shall have the power to co-opt 4 more members and shall have the power to nominate/invite eminent Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology alumni as Special invites;
(b) It shall decide all its matters mostly by consensus and if no consensus could be reached on any matter, the same will be deiced by a vote of majority members present. The co-opted members and special invitees will have no voting rights;
(c) The EC shall have financial powers to oversee its activities such as to
(i) open a bank account;
(ii) to receive and spend money and to maintain proper accounts; and
(iii) To create an Alumni Fund to further its purposes.
(d) The EC shall frame its own rules for conduct.

8. Chief Advisor, Alumni Affairs, of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology The Chief Advisor, Alumni Affairs, of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology shall be the ex-officio member of the EC and shall form an official link between the Alumni and the Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology community in furthering the purposes of the Alumni Association of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology.

9. Alumni Association of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology Logo and Website
Information relating to the activities of the Alumni Association of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology, including membership details will be placed on the Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology website. Alumni Association of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology website shall form part of the official Dr. B. Lal Institute website and it shall have its own logo with Dr. B. Lal Institute insignia scripted on it. No other body or agency shall, without due authorization from Dr. B. Lal Institute shall use Dr. B. Lal Institute alumni insignia.

10. Amendments
The General Body has the power to carry out amendments to the Constitution from time to time with a view to realize effectively the purposes. Any proposed amendments shall be circulated to all members of the Association along with the notice convening the meeting for that purpose.
